The First Meet: Indian Joint family Arranged Marriage Romance Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 53 ratings

The idea of an arranged marriage may be complicated, but the infamous first meet is more brutal than anything else.

What to talk about?

How to behave?

What to wear?

The questions are endless, and the nervousness is incurable. But still, we take the plunge hoping to meet someone special who would steal our breath away, race our slow heartbeats and ignite a spark inside us.

Meet Pankh as she goes on to a first meeting with Aman. Their journey is infectious but crazy. If all goes well, wedding bells will ring, and if not, they both will move on and get into the cycle of meeting other people until they meet their better half, their soulmate. Pankh is jolly, loud, and nervous. Aman is sweet, polite, and an absolute gentleman. It's the perfect pair in the imperfect world, but it all goes downhill because of one mistake, one misunderstanding.

Will they make it, or will they stay as a memory in each other's hearts forever?

Hi there, I’m Payal Dedhia. I’m a proud Mumbai local who spends my days guiding budding coders through the fascinating world of development. But when I'm not deep in the tech scene, you’ll find me exploring new corners of the city or jetting off to faraway lands in search of adventure.

As a lifelong bookworm, I’ve always devoured stories faster than my friends could recommend them. Eventually, I couldn’t resist the urge to write my own. Some of my tales dive into the darker corners of romance, while others highlight the beauty of contemporary love, where hearts connect in the most unexpected ways.

Just like I strive to bring out the best in my students, I pour the same passion into my writing. My goal is to captivate you with every word and take you on a journey through the many forms of love—sometimes twisted, sometimes tender, but always compelling.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure. Welcome to my world, where passion meets the page. I hope my stories whisk you away on an unforgettable journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aman and Pankh steal my ❤️

This is a typical Indian Arranged Marriage scenario where I could literally see myself in place of Pankh. She was a dreamer and at the age of 22 she had that purity and innocence preserved in her.
Aman on the other hand was a guy every girl could dream to be with. Handsome, well educated and kinda foreign return, well settled in career. The only catch was he lived with his joint family of 16 members.
Will Pankh agree to this joint family set up, being pampered like a princess of a nuclear family, will she accept Aman's alliance and say yes? Or she will get scared and say no?
Read on and get your answer!

P.S. i absolutely loved Pankh's bff Rashi who was soul sister and a rock for Pankh.

The first meet by Payal Dedhia. The book starts with a young Pankh Shah geared up for meeting Aman Shah for an Arranged Marriage proposition.
It's a light read that focuses on how two people meet to talk about their life and marriage.
I loved the way it is written as it focuses on relationships. The nervousness, jitters on meeting a stranger is well penned. Also the excitement to meet again and when things don't work out how it breaks your heart.
Pankh and Aman face one such situation that breaks the bond they have created. It's breaks their relationship and also the heart of two families that we're counting on them to work so two families can be bonded forever.
Overall, this book gives clear insight on how arranged marriages work in India with light humor and banter. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read the second installment of the series. Author has done remarkable work by touching one of the social topics with humor and romance.
This book is for all youngsters who are excited to meet the love of their life.

A perfect book on the practicalities of arrange marriage with humor and romance. I loved the chemistry between Pankh and Aman. A matured guy with a bubbly girl, a match made in heaven.
It's a short story about how two strangers meet officially to discuss marriage, give a chance to each other. They have been setup by their parents. I loved the pace of the story. Written beautifully, simple words but it touches the heart.
Story is from Pankh's point of view and her nervousness, happiness, emotional outbursts is too good. You feel being part of her. And that's what made the story more special.
    Overall, an enjoyable read.
    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating from me.
